For the first time in its history, the Science Centre will not be receiving visitors this spring break. But the tradition goes on!  In addition to preparing for a safe reopening, our team is offering a set of science activities for families to enjoy, including a science photo rally.

In response to the current situation, the Science Centre is offering a virtual edition of Women and Girls in Science, an UQAM presentation. The mission of the event, held in conjunction with the UN International Day of Women and Girls in Science, is to ignite an interest in science and technology among young people and to inspire girls to pursue careers in science and technology.

The Science Centre is pleased to announce that its gradual reopening begins on July 14. The featured exhibition Journey to Space will get the ball rolling, followed by the IMAX® TELUS theatre on July 16. For safety’s sake, strict preventive measures will be implemented, modifying the visitor experience temporarily.

The Old Port of Montréal will launch its summer season on June 20, as everything has been put in place to ensure the safety of visitors. This weekend marks the official return of many popular recreational activities and a smorgasbord of delicious food.

On the morning of May 1, 2000, the Science Centre (then called Centre ISci) opened its doors in the Old Port of Montréal. Its exhibits introduced visitors to science via a novel interactive approach that would become the Centre's trademark.
