Tree Maintenance Work | Old Port of Montréal

Tree Maintenance Work

As part of ongoing site maintenance and efforts to preserve our urban tree canopy, tree maintenance work will begin on October 5 along the Route du Port (gravel road).

This work involves the removal of 12 Norway maple trees that have been severely affected by a fungal disease compromising their health and structural stability, creating a safety risk for site users.

To help ensure the long-term sustainability of the tree canopy and enhance biodiversity across the site, the removed trees will be replaced with species better suited to the urban environment.

The work will be carried out in accordance with industry best practices in horticulture and urban forestry to ensure visitor safety while preserving the quality of the Old Port of Montreal’s landscaped environment.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this work.
