As part of a project to revitalize the south sector of Clock Tower Quay, the Old Port of Montréal Corporation (OPMC) is spearheading a three-phase multifunctional public square development project.
The Old Port boasts of a fully adapted and fully accessible event space which was completed in the spring of 2022 as part of Phase 1 of this project. We can undoubtedly say that the “Event Platform,” as it is called, has improved the visitor experience in this sector of the Old Port.
The OPMC is now gearing up for Phase 2 which aims to develop a new public square to be situated between the new Event Platform and the St. Lawrence River. This plaza will be designed to support gatherings of all kinds and to offer quiet views of the river. It will feature lighting design installations, street furniture, and green areas including trees.
Work will begin in mid-April to be completed in time for the start of the 2023 summer season.
