🌞 June 21 – National Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Join us at the Old Port of Montreal for a meaningful civic ceremony to mark the summer solstice.
This year, the event commemorates the 325th anniversary of the Great Peace of Montreal, a defining moment in our history rooted in respect, dialogue, and the coming together of peoples.

🪶 On the program:
• Traditional ceremony with Elders of the Mohawk Nation
• Drumming, ceremonial fire, and speeches
• Festive procession to Place Royale

🎉 Then continue the experience at Place Royale with Pointe-à-Callière’s neighborhood festival:
Powwow dancing, musical storytelling, and music with DJ Poptrt.

A time to come together, honor Indigenous cultures, and celebrate a heritage that is still very much alive.
Event in collaboration with Terres en vues and the Pointe-Ă -Callière Museum. 

  • 11:45 a.m.: Drumming to announce the start of the celebrations

    12:00 p.m.: Start of the celebrations—drumming and dancing 

    12:30 p.m.: Lighting of the fire 

    12:45 p.m.: Speeches and recognition of the elders

    2:00 PM: Procession along the Old Port promenade 

    2:30 PM: Festivities at Place Royale (drum performance by the Mohawk elder and other artists)
