New Historical Activity at the Old Port!

Come live a unique experience related to the history of Montreal. To the sound of bagpipes, fifes and drums, relive the history of the city to the rhythm of the 18th century by attending our historical demonstrations, including live musket fire, offered by Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal.

Are you a history buffs, a visitors or simply curious, the free historical demonstrations offered by Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal are for you! The historical interpreters, dressed in uniforms of either the Compagnie franche de la Marine or the 78th Fraser Highlanders regiment, will be there to welcome you and answer all your questions. Come and see their blank shooting demonstrations, where you'll see how 18th century soldiers reload a flintlock musket, or see how the various dances and music’s the Scots were doing at that time. One thing is certain, bring your camera! Do not miss the chance to take a picture with our performers or immortalize impressive moments of their demonstrations.

    • From June 29 to August 30, 2024
    • Wednesday to Sunday: Stop at Pont de l'Etang at 11:00 a.m
       
    • Saturday and Sunday: A second stop at Pont de l'Etang at 2:30 p.m.

    Please note that activities are cancelled in case of rain and animations will not take place on  August 2 and 4, as well as August 24 and 25. For more information, visit atmmontreal.com
