Meeting history head on with Les Anciennes troupes militaries de Montréal!

Are you a history buffs, a visitor or simply curious, the free historical demonstrations offered by Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal are for you!

The historical interpreters, dressed in uniforms of either the Compagnie franche de la Marine or the 78th Fraser Highlanders regiment, will be there to welcome you and answer all your questions. Come and see their blank shooting demonstrations, where you’ll see how 18th century soldiers reload a flintlock musket, or see how the various dances and music’s the Scots were doing at that time. One thing is certain, bring your camera! Do not miss the chance to take a picture with our performers or immortalize impressive moments of their demonstrations.

  • From the 28th of June to the 3rd t of September 2023

    Musket and music demonstrations:

    • From Wednesday to Sunday at 11 AM on the small bridge at the pond in the Parc linéaire de la Commune.
    • Saturdays and Sundays, 2:30 PM, on the small bridge at the pond in the Parc linéaire de la Commune.

    (note that there will be no activities on August 4th, 6th, 26th and 27th and if there is rain)
