A combination of gastronomy, art, and performance thats honors Chinese tradition and diversity!
During three days, the festival will offer a series of activities suitable for all ages.
Attendees can indulge in the gastronomic journey, tasting foods of traditional Double Fifth Festival such as Zongzi—sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves—and a variety of other delectable Chinese snacks. This culinary experience serves as a gateway to learning more about the festival’s historical significance.
In addition to food, there are an impressive lineup of cultural performances, including folk dance, music, and drama, which pay homage to China’s rich culture. Artisans will also be onsite showcasing their skills in traditional crafts like paper-cutting and calligraphy, providing a hands-on approach to understanding the intangible heritage.
The event also emphasizes community and inclusivity by engaging diverse audiences and involving multiple cultural groups in the festivities. Highlights include a children’s cultural education segment featuring storytelling and craft-making workshops, a traditional fashion show, a closing ceremony, and cultural lectures and workshops aimed at deepening visitors' understanding of the Double Fifth Festival.
This festival is a testament to the shared values of diversity, inclusion, and cultural appreciation. It presents a unique opportunity for individuals and families to immerse themselves in and celebrate the profound cultural heritage of the Chinese community in Canada.
